Holland Hydrogen 1: A Pioneering Project in Europe The Holland Hydrogen 1 facility marks a major milestone as Europe’s first large-scale plant dedicated to renewable hydrogen production. With a 200 MW capacity, it will help decarbonize operations at Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam (Pernis) and support cleaner industrial practices.
The plant will arise behind the dunes on the Dutch coast, on Maasvlakte 2. Holland Hydrogen 1 will help the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam (Pernis) among others, to become more sustainable.
